Amazon Basin Emerald Tree Boa
Corallus
caninus
Amazon basins get slightly larger than the surinam and
guyana shield emeralds and can varie in color from a vivid
bright green to deep green with an almost black back.
Emeralds in general don't like heat and if kept to warm
frequently get problems. I keep my animals in a temperature
range of 26C-28C and 80% - 90% humidity and they thrive
under these conditions. Adults are fed every 3 - 4 weeks a
medium sized meal and juveniles in average every 10 days.
Striping isn't always visible in juveniles and can start to
devellop when they start to change color, on the contrary a
baby that is born with a stripe won't loose it as it
matures, the striping present at birth is a good indication
on what it will look like as an adult.
