Dutch Pastel
Boa
constrictor imperator
I started develloping this line in 1994 initially
breeding for a pink/red color only. I selected the best
looking babys from each litter and bred them also each time
selecting the best ones but wasn't happy after a few years
with the results. The offspring was improving in color but
had very dull looking tails which made them look not half as
good as they could be, so i bred some superb looking surinam
boas into the line to refresh the bloodline and get a better
tailsection.
By now this line is producing some of the finest pastels
(judging by the compliments ) in the market today, the babys
are born pink to red in color with beautiful contrasting
tailsections , the color intensifies with each shed. These
boa's are co-dominant and if bred against another morph will
add color instead of fading the colors.
This line was develloped independently from any of the
bloodlines around today in Europe or the US.
